Co-Design for Intergenerational Communication Tools.
Bridging generational gaps in mobile communication through co-design with grandparents and grandchildren
Despite a strong desire for communication, interactions between elderly grandchildren (GC) and younger adult grandparents (GP) via mobile technology often face breakdowns. This study conducted an interview study and co-design sessions to address these challenges. The first phase explored the communication patterns facilitated by mobile technology between GC and GP, focusing on the differences and challenges inherent in these interactions. Based on the three main barriers identified, co-design sessions were held to explore how mobile technology can support better communication experiences and relationships.
My main role in this study was to organize and prepare the co-design sessions. Additionally, support was provided for data analysis and paper writing.
